The NSPCC believes that protecting children must remain a political priority, in order to keep children safe from harm and protect those who have experienced abuse. Our I Stand for Children campaign called on parliamentary candidates to pledge ‘I Stand for Children’ ahead of the recent general election. Over 14,300 people in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales asked their parliamentary candidates to make protecting children their priority as part of the campaign. Over 900 election candidates committed to important child protection measures, such as securing essential funding for services for children. Representatives of all the main political parties promised to champion our issues in Parliament.
